Our Summer in Pictures

At the beginning of summer I had grand plans to keep up with this blog and post pictures and stories of all the fun we were going to have this summer. Well . . . as most of you know, we had a crappy summer. Events out of our control took over and while we still had some fun, the summer definitely didn't go as I planned. So here is a condensed version of the good parts of our summer. The pictures posted out of order. Oops!

At the end of summer we attended a family wedding on the coast. The girls danced their toes off. They partied until late in the night. We should have had a pedometer on Eloise. The wedding took place on a golf course and when she wasn't dancing she was running like a crazy woman. I was surprised the bottom of her feet weren't bruised.


At the beginning of the summer we took a camping trip to a nearby lake. The girls had a great time playing in the water. Eloise at one point was just floating, in her life jacket, on her back in the lake. As calm, content and happy as could be. In this first picture, Maggie is in the background and the girls' good friend Shauna is walking with Lily and Eloise. One of the families there had a boat and they were kind enough to take Maggie & Lily out on a big inner tube. They had a blast and yelled "faster" the whole time.

All of that hard play time also required many naps. Here is just one nap Eloise took with Auntie Julie Darling. She had many nap partners that weekend.

Both Maggie and Lily played soccer this summer. Maggie is now on a team that has goalies! It's a whole new level of excitement.


Of course the best part of soccer season is the ice cream after the games.

In Lily's last game she scored a couple goals. What a great way to end the season.

Well, that is our summer in a nutshell. Maggie is now back in school and loving the first grade. Lily starts Kindergarten on Monday. I promise to post first day of school pictures soon.
